“Whom do you pray?”, asked his colleague expecting a name of an ancient God/Goddess in reply whilst they were on their way to conquer one more territory. “I worship and pray my fears, my friend.” Such were the aesthetics of one great leader and conqueror named Alexander the Great. He believed that the perfect way to deal with time was; not only giving your fears equal dignity as you give to your lord but also worshipping them, so that times are never termed tough for you because you have your fears helping you as your Lords; either to amend times in your favor or giving you the courage to face them! This is a crucial characteristic of a leader in a job, to take care of his peers when he observes such a symptom of dilemma in them. How vital it is for leaders to act like an erudite mentor, for maintaining the level of appreciation they give to their peers for working amazing in a project and at the same time to scoff them for not working with a complete productivity! During these encounters with their peers they constantly deal with the importance of equanimity because if they not; the “cardiogram” kind of interactions they are bound to meet with colleagues, leaves them with whimsical mindset which is malevolent for their job.
I lay my belief on the cliché which says,” Every leader was once a fresher.” Coincidentally while writing this blog IBI is a host to few newbies this week. Such newbies are first questioned about how creative they are in terming an adjective for the balcony; if they fail to do so, they are considered inappropriate for the job J They are step by step nurtured about the company and the job for which they are hired. They are enlightened and motivated by giving examples of such leaders in their job. Now when they are one and a half week old in the firm, I would like to throw some of their opinions on the firm and work. There was on particular compliment which each one of those gave, which will broaden Shibu sir’s chest by some inches. That compliment says, “After coming to IBI, my conception for a firm that had an image saying MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, transitioned to TEAM i.e. Together wE Achieve More.”
“Pooja; as she was yesterday; is a competition for me today. I don’t care if I am excelling from him/her (others) but if I am better from what I was, I would get a satisfactory sleep.” She is happy with the minute amount of care being taken during her training period and terms herself a diamond which will shine after the training, to which I doubtJ. She is very happy to gain the knowledge i.e. A Market Research Analyst’s job has a lot other things to learn, when compared to a customer care executive working in a call center. After chatting with Pooja, she called her sister Priya who is, as enthusiastic about every new thing that she encounters, as her sister Pooja is thoughtful about!
When questioned by me if she ever saw herself as a leader, she answers in negative because she feels she won’t able to make people feel comfortable to which I asked, “What do you think it takes to be a leader?” she answered, “Many things, the first one is; you should be approachable. I don’t seem approachable to most of the people”. Her mom and herself; both felt that she has got more mature than she was before joining IBI. One more compliment added to the firm’s pocket is not just that, but she also feels she had developed a conception which she got to know by exploring a new horizon which was after coming to IBI i.e. being “ones-own-self” was more beautiful than trying to imitate someone. My eyes were filled with Nacl + Water while she was saying that, because last Blog spoke in louder and clear manner about one such concept with the gist; that was “Be You.” Discussing my philosophy with someone like her, who does Bachelors in Psychology, was a fun before I called in Vrushank Jani, mind the last-name which he doesn’t forget to say while doing a mock call!
“Oh Great!”; “Really is that so?”; “Oh my God I wouldn’t have ever thought of that”; “Oh shit!”; when you have a person who’s reaction is thrown to you before you complete your action, you would inform very kindly to him to please let your ball be thrown completely and then; he was allowed to raise the bat or else he would get bowled out. “Fear is fear, how can someone worship fear, you have to fear from fear”, notice the amount of times, he says the word “fear”, moving on, he sees himself as a leader in future. “The power of pushing someone from where he is currently, is a quality which a leader must have”, he says energetically adding that, “IBI has enhanced my confidence of communicating with people.” Wishing him for the mock call that he had that day, and hoping such conversation was helpful to let them perform better, I left them to their own.
Newbies lets the fragrance of flower named IBI reach to an area more than what was covered, joining with the petals that were already on the flower, IBI welcomes all its newbies who are soon to become leaders.
