Onam, the harvest festival celebrated in Kerala state of India. It is known for its team work celebrations. This is due to the myth of the legendary King Mahabali. It is usually celebrated in August and September. Ranging from four days to ten days, it’s a celebration with worship, music, dance, sports, sailing and good food. These days, Children create botanical designs in their homes for Onathappan (King Mahabali). Thiruvonam, the tenth day is the most favorable. On this day, all family members together and celebrating – Sadia – a traditional dinner meals served on banana leaves.
